I Found Myself Pregnant After Becoming An Omega 50

Chapter 50: Treachery

"Uncle Song?"

As soon as he walked out of the room, Ji Heng bumped into someone.

He was startled and wanted to get angry, but after seeing who it was, he immediately became well-behaved. "Why are you here?"

The man in front of him was one of his father's right-hand men and had watched him grow up.

Aside from Ji Yuan Sheng, Ji Heng is most afraid of him.

"Where is Xue Zong?" The man's voice was cold, not at all in line with his handsome face.

"He's in there." Ji Heng pointed towards the door, "But now’s not a good—"

Before he could finish his words, the man had already moved past him and opened the door: "Let me see him."

As the door opened, the scent of blood and pheromone floated out.

The man frowned and took two steps inside. When he saw the person inside, he couldn't help but curl his lips: "Young master Xue sure is in a good mood. You even have the leisure to enjoy such a thing despite being so seriously injured."

Standing in front of the French window, Xue Zong turned around and smiled, "Uncle Song."

Then he looked at Ji Heng, "You go out and just do your thing first. I have something to talk to Uncle Song about."

After sending Ji Heng away, the two Alphas sat down at the coffee table.

Song Ming casually threw a cigarette to Xue Zong, completely ignoring the fact that the other party was injured. After lighting the cigarette for himself, he stretched out his long arm and the flame of the lighter came into Xue Zong's eyes.

Xue Zong chuckled and lit his cigarette: "How many people have you bring?"

He narrowed his eyes slightly, raised his head and blew out smoke rings. Wisps of smoke swirled upwards, and the smell of nicotine filled the room.

"Thirty."

Xue Zong nodded: "He really thinks highly of me."

Song Ming glanced sideways: "That thing in Africa, was it you?"

Xue Zong just smiled when he heard that.

Song Ming said in a deep voice: "It's too risky."

"It doesn't matter. There will always be such a day."

Xue Zong lowered his eyes, his usually gentle expression in front of others now had a hint of sarcasm, "Besides, even if he suspects it was me, what can he do?"

At worse, it would result in nothing more than a furious whipping and someone being sent to keep an eye on him, putting him under house arrest effectively.

The former only hurts for two days, while the latter…

Xue Zong pushed the ashtray in front of Song Ming. The two looked at each other and smiled knowingly.

—Who is watching whom?

Besides, no one could trap him.

"He has dug his own grave."

Xue Zong lowered his eyelids slightly, looking at the flickering sparks on his fingertips with an indifferent expression. The shape was perfect, but his eyes could not hide the sharpness.

"And I am more than happy to help."

Ji Yu sat cross-legged opposite Little Yu Zhou, and the two, one big and one small, watched the tail dangling back and forth together.

He said, “Put the tail back.”

"taaah baaah."

"Put the tail back."

Little Yu Zhou shook his head and said, "Puuu te taaah baaah."

"Yes, that's it. Okay, look at me and learn from me." Ji Yu suddenly put his hands together and said, "Back!"

"Baaah!"

Little Yu Zhou followed suit and put his hands together. After he was done, he was amused by his own action and laughed with a wide mouth until his eyes narrowed.

He laughed, but Ji Yu sighed.

This tail can't be put away no matter how much they’ve tried.

It was still fine during the holidays, as the child could stay with his parents and not go out.

But what would happen when the holidays are over? Both Ji Yu and He Zhou have to go back to school.

What should Little Yu Zhou do?

Ji Yu’s phone rang at this time, and he casually answered, his tone was a little irritated: "Hello."

"Ji Yu, it's me."

It was Xie Yu Xing.

Ji Yu sat up straight, his tone less anxious: "Did you go to the opening ceremony of the SA yesterday? I think I saw you."

"Yes, I went there and I saw you too." Xie Yu Xing admitted.

He seemed to be in some sort of extremely quiet environment. His voice was exceptionally clear, even his breathing was audible.

Ji Yu thought for a moment and asked, "What do you want to talk to me about?"

"Is it convenient for you to come out? Let's meet somewhere."

Ji Yu glanced at Little Yu Zhou who was climbing on top of him and trying to grab the phone, "Can't we just talk over the phone?"

The breathing on the other end of the phone was particularly heavy: "I, I have something to give you, it's about Little Yu Zhou, and, and..."

Ji Yu frowned: "And?"

"I'm sorry." The other party suddenly apologized quickly.

"Let's meet to discuss the details. This afternoon or tomorrow, I'm fine with either. You decide the time. Please, we have to meet."

Ji Yu: “???”

He took the phone and look at the screen. The caller ID showed that it was indeed Xie Yu Xing, but why did the tone sound like he was inviting him to the Hongmen Banquet?

"Hey, are you still there?"

Ji Yu: "I'm here. Do we have to meet in person?"

"Yes."

"Then wait a bit, I'll call you back."

After hanging up the phone, Ji Yu lowered his eyes and looked at Little Yu Zhou who was hugging his arms.

He reached out and rubbed the little head, ruffling the soft black hair. "You're not a dragon, are you? Huh? You're a little dragon, right? You have so many secrets, everyone knows you, everyone wants to find you."

"Who wants to find him?"

He Zhou came in with a big box in his hand.

Ji Yu: “What is that?”

"Pheromone Purifier."

Ji Yu's ears suddenly felt hot: "...Oh."

The air became inexplicably sticky.

Ji Yu touched his nose and reached out to play with Little Yu Zhou’s tail.

He Zhou looked at Ji Yu calmly, as if nothing had happened. "Who did you say was looking for him again?"

"It was Xie Yu Xing. He asked me to come and meet him. He said he have something important to say about Yu Zhou."

"Did you agree?"

Ji Yu shook his head: "Not yet. His tone was so strange, he sounded very nervous, and he even apologized to me. What do you think, should I go?"

He Zhou nodded: "Go ahead, I'll go with you."

He recalled the scene where Xie Yu Xing pulled Xue Zong away.

Xie Yu Xing hid himself very deeply. He Zhou had investigated so many things about the Ji family but couldn't dig up any information regarding this Xie Yu Xing. Either this person was hiding himself, or... someone had deliberately erased his existence.

That person should be Xue Zong.

"I also want to know what he wants to say to you." He Zhou said again.

"Wait, if we both go, who will take care of Little Yu Zhou?"

"He’ll wait in the car with me. You go and meet up with Xie Yu Xing."

After making the arrangements, Ji Yu called Xie Yu Xing and scheduled an appointment at a local cafe.

In the afternoon, Ji Yu arrived first.

At two o'clock, Xie Yu Xing appeared on time.

Ji Yu chose a seat by the window.

He wasn't worried about anyone seeing them, nor was he worried about their conversation being overheard by others - He Zhou had generously booked the entire cafe, so there were only the two of them.

After not seeing each other for such a long time, Xie Yu Xing looked much more haggard.

He took off his mask, revealing his pale face: "Sorry for the long wait."

Ji Yu said: "I just arrived. Are you... okay?"

Xie Yu Xing nodded: "I'm fine."

He took something out of his pocket and pushed it in front of Ji Yu, "This is for you."

Ji Yu looked down and saw that it was a small USB flash drive.

He reached out and took it, asking, "What's in it?"

"Take it back and read it yourself."

Xie Yu Xing took out a black sealed box from his pocket and pushed it in front of Ji Yu, "And this too, take it."

Ji Yu was confused: "We’re both here, why can't you just say it directly?"

Xie Yu Xing pursed her lips, lowered her head and said, "I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

Ji Yu looked straight at Xie Yu Xing, trying to see any hints from his eyes, but Xie Yu Xing kept his head down and his eyes couldn’t be seen.

Xie Yu Xing took a deep breath, glanced at Ji Yu and then looked away: "Little Yu Zhou may show some abnormalities in the near future."

Ji Yu's heart skipped a beat, but he remained calm: "What abnormalities?"

"You should understand after reading what I gave you."

Xie Yu Xing lowered his head again, "I know that Ji Yuan Sheng has been particularly interested in Little Yu Zhou recently. It's me... I... I’m so sorry."

Ji Yu began to get a little annoyed: "Why do you keep apologizing? Can’t you just tell me!"

"You refused to tell me over the phone, and insisted on dragging me all the way out here. And for what? So that you can remain quiet as a clam? If you only wanted to give me these two things, can't you just send them to me by mail? Now that I’m actually here, why can’t you just make it clear all at once? Is that so really difficult?"

Xie Yu Xing was silent.

He lowered his head and clenched his hands for a long time before finally letting go. His throat moved and let out a hoarse voice: "I... have been lying to you and to Ji Yu all along."

"I didn't move, and my parents didn't get divorced."

"I don't have parents."

"I was raised by my aunt, who was... a servant of the Ji family."

"So, Ji Yu and I grew up together."

"We have always been good friends, but later, I betrayed him."

Xie Yu Xing suddenly raised his head, his eyes wide open and red.

Then he took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and his voice trembled a little.

"I became Ji Yuan Sheng's dog."

The car music was turned off and Ji Yu sat in the passenger seat in silence.

In the back seat was little Yu Zhou, who had fallen asleep after playing so much. He was sleeping soundly in the infant safety carrier. He was very lively, with his tail wagging slowly, and he seemed very leisurely.

He Zhou was driving, and neither of them spoke for a while.

The photos in his hand have been flipped through countless times. From surprise at the beginning to numbness later, Ji Yu didn't know how to describe his feelings.

Maybe it's the shattering of his worldview.

He has lived in a good environment since he was a child. He is loved by his father and mother. His family is wealthy. There is nothing he cannot get. He also has good friends and they are all cheerful and positive.

At this age, their biggest headache is exams, and they fear only one thing - having their parents called by the teacher. Even the “bad apples,” the ones bragging about how much they don’t care about school, would secretly stay up late in bed with a flashlight to study.

For these young students, their world was simple and pure.

There is no disguises, no evil plots, no conspiracy, no intrigue.

At most, they have petty quarrels, break up, and complain sourly to their circle of friends.

These are all the little things in the life of a student.

Yet, now, Ji Yu not only witnessed Little Yu Zhou growing a tail with his own eyes, but also saw a bunch of people with animal claws, fangs, and tails in the photos.

In addition, he was told that—

The biological father of the original Ji Yu was a madman who performed cruel experiment on his own son.

The so-called best friend was a fake. He lied and manipulated poor Ji Yu for years under the pretense of friendship and kindness, all to monitor and reports all of Ji Yu’s information  back to Ji Yuan Sheng.

When Little Yu Zhou was born, there was naturally one more person to be kept under watch.

And then there is—

"Why do you think he told me this all of a sudden?"

Without waiting for He Zhou to answer, Ji Yu continued, his lips twitched sarcastically.

"I guess it's because he knows that I'm with you, and he wants to use our relationship to make you, or rather get your father… No, more than that, I think it can be said that—he wants to get the military, or even the country involved. His goal, of course, is to destroy Ji Yuan Sheng."

"But why go so far now? Did he finally grow a conscience and started feeling guilty?" Ji Yu smiled mockingly. "I highly doubt that."

He Zhou: "He’s doing it for Xue Zong."

Lyrus: Welcome to the second of half of this novel: the palace drama. There are so many swords, people be getting stabbed left and right, so watch your back!

[Historical Note: Hongmen Banquet

In 206 BCE, the Qin Dynasty fell, and the empire was split between two warlords, Liu Bang and Xiang Yu. They were both contending for the throne, but Xiang Yu had a far superior army, nearly four times as much as Liu Bang's. With so much military power, Xiang Yu was confident in being the new emperor.

On the other hand, Liu Bang, though not as strong, had the heart of the people. Whenever he conquered a city, he would explicitly forbid his soldiers from killing, looting, and committing war crimes against innocent civilians. This was also what prompted the deposed emperor of Qin to surrender to him, and declared Liu Bang as the rightful ruler of the land.

Naturally, when Xiang Yu heard that Liu Bang been declared king, he flew into rage. However, instead of attacking outright, Xiang Yu hatched an insidious plan to kill his rival. He would invite Liu Bang to a banquet, in which numerous traps and assassins were prepared and waiting. The banquet's would be set in Xiang Yu's territory, where his army has completely surrounded the venue, so even if Liu Bang figure it out later on, he could not escape.

Liu Bang, of course, has totally figured it out. From the moment he recieved the "invitation," he knew it was a trap. However, due to the disparity in military power, and to avoid unnecessary bloodshed both to his own soldiers and the common people, he had no choice but to agree. Thus he led a small group of men to attend what is supposedly their last meal.

Through a combination of intellect, wits, bravery, remarkable allies, and what can only be described as a real-life protagonist halo, Liu Bang survived all the attempts on his life. After several close calls, Liu Bang excused himself to go to the bathroom, sneak out the back, and hightailed it out of there like a guy that just discovered his date has six baby daddies.

In the end, Xiang Yu get to experience what being a villain in a stallion novel is like. Liu Bang came back, and he back came hard. Four years later, Liu Bang defeated Xiang Yu, becoming the new emperor and the Han Dynasty was born.

Surprisingly, the most famous banquet in Chinese history ended without any bloodshed. It is often used to refer to an invitation with impure motives, as well as somebody willingly walking into a trap. ]
