I Found Myself Pregnant After Becoming An Omega 52
Chapter 52: The Real Victim
Ji Yu looked up and met He Zhou's gaze.
The two looked at each other, speechless for a moment.
He Zhou's Adam's apple moved up and down. He suddenly leaned
forward and said to the phone, "What’s the evidence?"
The person on the other end of the phone replied,
"Haven't you read the information I gave you? The genes of the child born
from an experimental subject is completely mutated. After all, how can the
genes of a normal person match the genes of an animal?"
"Moreover, if Ji Yu had been thoroughly marked and
impregnated by someone else, then his body would no longer be able to accept
you. Even if you two were 100% compatible, it would be useless. Not to mention
intercourse, just intimate contact would be extremely painful for him."
"Furthermore, if Ji Yu had washed away the mark, there
would have been residues left behind, and there’s no way he could hide it."
"So, Little Yu Zhou is indeed your child."
After a few seconds of silence, a loud "bang" rang
out and the glass coffee table in the room was cracked.
He Zhou suddenly gritted his teeth and paced back and forth,
like an angry trapped beast.
He grabbed his hair violently, turned around and snatched
the phone from Ji Yu's hand, "Then you guys are just going to watch me
misunderstood Ji Yu?! You’re willing to watch him die when you know everything?!"
"And what about Xie Yu Xing? Ah? Didn't Xie Yu Xing knew
what kind of life Ji Yu had been living best? Is Xie Yu Xing willing to watch his
best friend die without ever knowing the truth?!"
Suddenly, the crying sobs of a little child was heard.
He Zhou paused, and his raised voice suddenly dropped. His
chest rose and fell, and he looked at the small bulge on the bed with a
complicated expression.
Ji Yu ran over quickly and picked up the child, patting and
coaxing him.
He Zhou also walked towards the bed.
The voice on the phone began saying something, but He Zhou
could no longer hear it. The only thing left in front of him was the little
child curled up in Ji Yu's arms, crying and choking listlessly.
His eyes followed the puffy crying face to the silver-white
tail.
He Zhou clenched his hands and suppressed his anger:
"Where is Ji Yuan Sheng?"
"Country A. He flew there immediately after the news
exposure incident."
He Zhou took a deep breath: "I understand."
Ji Yu pulled He Zhou's hand holding the phone closer to him
and asked, "What happens after a mutation occurs? Is there an antidote or a
cure or something that could reverse the effects of mutation?"
"As far as I know—no."
"Why not?" Ji Yu frowned, "What if there’s a
mistake during the experimentation process?"
"I don't know about that."
Ji Yu asked again: "I have also looked at the
information. Why is the child matched with a dragon? Is there really dragons in
this world?"
"I was not involved in the specific details, so I don't
know that either."
Compared to Ji Yu and He Zhou's fluctuating emotions, on the
other end of the phone, Xue Zong was much calmer. No matter what was asked, he
always answered gently and calmly.
Ji Yu asked a few more questions, but didn't get any useful
answers.
Although Xue Zong was part of Ji Yuan Sheng’s inner circle,
he was not a researcher after all, and cannot give any specific details about
the experiments conducted.
After the call ended, the room fell silent again.
One person sat at the head of the bed, while the other stood
at the edge of the bed, their eyes focused on the child who had stopped crying.
Little Yu Zhou was sensitive to the oppressive atmosphere.
He buried his face in Ji Yu's arms obediently, blinking his wet eyes without
saying a word.
Ji Yu sighed and asked softly, "Do you still want to take
a nap?"
Little Yu Zhou shook his little head.
He Zhou suddenly asked, "Do you want some milk?"
Little Yu Zhou ignored the question and lowered his head to
play with his tail.
He Zhou looked at Ji Yu helplessly, but Ji Yu could only shrugged.
Ever since Ji Yu washed off the mark, Little Yu Zhou’s
attitude towards He Zhou changed a complete 180.
Before, smelling He Zhou’s scent on his mother, the child subconsciously
associated He Zhou as one of his parents. Once the mark has been removed, however,
the scent is no longer there, and since He Zhou refused to spend much time with
his son, the child no longer recognized He Zhou’s pheromone.
In other words, Little Yu Zhou had completely disowned He
Zhou as his father.
"Don't just stand there, sit down and talk."
He Zhou silently sat down beside the bed. After a long pause,
he only managed to blurt out a single word, "I..."
Ji Yu raised his eyes: "?"
He Zhou shook his head: "Nothing."
"Let me guess, you’re feeling conflicted?"
“I guess so.”
Ji Yu: "Want to talk about it?"
He Zhou lips trembled for a moment, before turning his head
away, "Forget it, there's nothing to say."
It was already four o'clock in the afternoon.
Grey clouds blocked the sunlight, and sky darkened. The
trees outside began shaking, and the wind started to pick up. It looked like there
would be a storm soon.
Ji Yu glanced at the computer screen with the files still
open: "Should we continue to read the information?"
"Go ahead, I’ll just sit here for a while."
"…Okay, you can slowly sort out your thoughts."
Ji Yu sat in front of the computer holding Little Yu Zhou.
Little Yu Zhou had never touched a computer before. After
getting enough sleep and regaining his energy, he couldn't help but become
curious about new things.
He grabbed the table with both hands and stood up
tremblingly. However, his tiny feet were still unstable, and he finally fell on
the table surface. Undeterred, the little cub stuck out his little butt, and
reached out his fingers to poke the colorful display.
Ji Yu quickly pulled the child back into his arms: "Don’t
lean so close to the screen. You're going to hurt your eyes."
He unplugged the mouse cable and put the mouse into Little
Yu Zhou's hand, "Here, you can play with this. Be good."
Little Yu Zhou is very easy to coax. A mouse can make him
smile. He touches this and touches that, and refuses to let go of the mouse.
He Zhou sat in the back and looked at the two of them
quietly. After a moment, he closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead.
Originally, He Zhou was very sure of himself.
He had always felt that he had the right to hate Ji Yu, to
ignore Ji Yu, to abandoned this would-be wife and cast him out of his life
forever.
He Zhou have always told himself that he had done his best,
and that it was Ji Yu who was an ungrateful pest.
He even felt that he was the victim in all this and that
everything was just a series of bad luck.
After accidentally knocking up Ji Yu, he was beaten severely
by his father and forced to apologize to Xie Qi and his parents. He was forced
to escort this “stranger” every day to school, and was laughed at by his peers
and classmates.
At that time, he was young, frivolous and unruly. Even
though Ji Yu was a 100% match with him, the anger in his heart made him dislike
Ji Yu no matter what.
He didn't choose this person, he was forced.
He hated the feeling of being "forced."
At that time, he couldn't resist, and indeed lost control. By
the time he came to his senses, everything had already happened. However, he did
not evade the consequences. He did not hide from taking responsibilities and accepted
them all.
His family gave Ji Yu one million yuan and transferred Ji Yu
from an ordinary high school to Longcheng No. 1 High.
Ji Yu was given a new residence, and his father, a general,
bowed down and apologized to him repeatedly.
Ji Yu forgave him.
Unexpectedly, a month later, Ji Yu suddenly told him that he
was pregnant.
He Zhou's first thought was to abort the child.
He doesn't like Ji Yu, and Ji Yu doesn't like him. The birth
of this child was not planned and would be disastrous. Besides, they are both
still young. How can they be parents when they don't even know how to start
their own lives?
His family had the same idea as him, and considering various
factors, they believed that the child was not suitable to be born.
But Ji Yu did not agree and insisted on giving birth to the
baby.
Because Ji Yu wanted to enter the He family.
Ji Yu wanted both status and position.
Ji Yu admitted this to He family himself.
Ji Yu laid out his thoughts and ideas directly, saying that
he was not doing it for money or power or anything else.
He just wanted to be part of a family, that was all.
Ji Yu’s gaze and words were so firm.
No matter how angry he was or how much he felt he was being
plotted against, He Zhou still accepted it.
However, Father He was very dissatisfied, and insisted that
Ji Yu give birth to the child and confirm that it was the He family's offspring
before he could be allowed into the family.
In just a few months, He Zhou had experienced more frustrations
and resentments that he had ever experienced in his entire life. Later, when he
watched Ji Yu's belly getting bigger, he felt depressed and had to resigned to
his fate.
However, he didn't expect that there was something even more
heartbreaking waiting for him later.
The child was born in just five months, and two paternity tests
both showed that the child was not his.
He was cuckolded.
He became the scapegoat and completely lost face, making his
father feel deeply ashamed.
His anger had reached its max, but there was no way he could
vent.
After the paternity tests came out, Father He blew up and wanted
to confront Ji Yu directly. However, He Zhou stopped his father. After a brief
discussion between father and son, He Zhou walked into the maternity ward,
threw a bank card and a key towards Ji Yu along with the address of a house,
and walked out with an expressionless face.
He did not force Ji Yu to drop out of school, nor did he do
anything else.
Just ignore and avoid Ji Yu.
Although all related topics on the campus forum were banned,
He Zhou couldn't control the attitude of his classmates, nor did he care enough
to control it.
Besides, he had given Ji Yu a house and enough money. If Ji
Yu still had any shame, he should remove the mark quickly, and drop out of
school, and disappear from everyone’s sight forever.
But Ji Yu didn’t.
Not only did he not leave, he also came to see him every day
without fail and told him that the child was definitely his.
But when he asked him—
How do you explain giving birth in five months?
How do you explain the paternity tests?
Ji Yu couldn't answer.
He thought it was ridiculous at the time.
Things such as pheromone matching degree and attraction
became meaningless. He had reached the point where he felt physically disgusted
when he saw Ji Yu.
Even when he later learned that Ji Yu died from sleeping
pills, he was not very moved.
But unexpectedly, everything turned upside down.
Ji Yu became the most innocent person.
And He Zhou became the fuse and the executioner who lead an
innocent soul to his death.
He Zhou grabbed the edge of the bed tightly, veins appeared
on his hands and his knuckles turned white.
He took deep breaths, but his chest still felt heavy.
"Are you... okay?"
He Zhou raised his head upon hearing that and met two pairs
of eyes, one big and one small.
The bigger pair showed worry, while the smaller pair showed curiosity. Below the smaller eyes was a bulging, drooling mouth.
"I'm fine."
He Zhou raised his finger and pointed at Little Yu Zhou with
a hard to decipher expression, "He's biting his tail."
"Ah?" Ji Yu lowered his head and saw it clearly.
Little Yu Zhou didn't realize at all that something was
wrong. He raised his head and looked at Ji Yu with a silly grin, holding his
tail in his mouth.
Ji Yu pull his little hand away, took the tail out of his
mouth, and then took a few tissues to wipe both the child’s mouth and tail,
"Don't chew on your tail. If you chew it, I'll spank your hand,
understand?"
"Wuwuwu." Little Yu Zhou suddenly pouted and
twisted in Ji Yu's arms.
"It's no use acting like a spoiled brat!" Ji Yu
said sternly.
After saying that, he suddenly seemed to think of something
and looked at He Zhou, but he didn't expect that He Zhou was still looking at
them with a complicated expression.
"You…" Ji Yu was stunned for a moment, and pointed
at Little Yu Zhou, "Do you want to hold him?"
Before He Zhou could respond, Little Yu Zhou's two little
hands grabbed Ji Yu's clothes and buried his head in his chest.
He Zhou curled his lips: "He likes you, so just hug him."
He stood up and pointed in the direction of the door.
"I'm going to go out and make a phone call. My father
must be informed of this matter. You...stay here with him. I'll be back
soon."
